Fires and explosions cause a large loss of human life and damage to plant and equipment and have become the most significant cause for concern in the oil refining, petrochemical and process industries. They also make a major impact on assessing risk for insurance.
Fire can start only when a source of ignition comes into contact with some combustible materials. If all sources of ignition are brought under strict control, the danger of fire and explosion will be greatly reduced.
It is therefore essential that all employees are aware of how to spot and correct situations that could lead to fires and explosions.
The course is intended to help participants to spot and correct situations that could lead to fires and explosion. Participants will be encouraged to participate in case studies which include explosion in a flare stack, fire in a tank and pipe trench, dangers of handling flammable liquids, fighting an LPG fire, and hazards of unseen fires.
