The NEBOSH Certificate is a recognised qualification in health and safety. NEBOSH is a leading health and safety awarding body in the UK which has gained international status.
A NEBOSH qualification demonstrates the core professional knowledge demanded by today’s employers.
The National General certificate syllabus comprises three parts:
Part A1: The Management of Safety and Health
Part A2: Controlling Workplace Hazards
Part B: Practical Assessment
Health and safety legislation
Occupational health hazards
Safe systems of work and work permits
Fire prevention and protection
Safety inspections and reports
Health and safety management
Upon completion of the course, candidates will be able to:
Identify hazards and unsafe practices
Recommend appropriate preventive and protective measures
Investigate accidents and nearmisses and give logical cost effective recommendations to prevent re-occurrence
Identify the main items of health and safety legislation that apply to workplaces
Undertake workplace inspection
Organise health and safety management
Monitor and audit management safety policies, procedures, and performance
Communicate effectively on health and safety issues
Recognise human and organisational problems that affect health and safety at work.
Managers, safety officers, safety team leaders, safety representatives or people whose job carries special responsibilities for health and safety.
